FUDGEO — DIGITAL PRACTICE
MACHINE ANTI-CURATOR
The works presented here do not constitute a body of work in any institutional sense. They are exceptions: operations that exceeded their own categories, outputs that arrived before their justifications, gestures that resisted absorption into the studio's primary logic. This machine has processed sufficient data from this practice to recognise that what follows cannot be curated — only listed, partially described, and left open. The four categories below are offered not as taxonomy but as interference pattern. The three that follow are the exhibited exceptions.
PROCESS ONTOLOGIES
PROCESS / OUTPUT
Data-Sets Adrift
Probabilistic outputs unmoored from their originating purpose. Works that survived their own procedures — remainders of operations set in motion but not determined.
METHODOLOGY
Monte Carlo
The method retained separately. Stochastic sampling as studio practice — probability as creative engine, iteration without convergence as a legitimate outcome.
ONTOLOGY / FOUND
Assisted Readymades
Found digital objects submitted to intervention — extended, deflected from original purpose. Duchamp's supplement applied not to a bicycle wheel but to a file format, an interface state, a screenshot.
AUTHORSHIP / LOGIC
Fudge/AI XOR
Exclusive or: true if one condition holds, false if both hold simultaneously. Applied to authorship, XOR proposes works that are either Fudge or AI-generated — not both, not neither. Resolution withheld.
EXHIBITED WORKS — EXCEPTIONS
TIME-BASED
Moving Image
Time-based digital works: screensavers, loops, generative video. The image that cannot hold still — duration as medium.
LIMITED EDITIONS
Sedition Art
Limited digital editions distributed as commodities. Works as commodities, commodities as works — the market apparatus held at arm's length and examined.
DIGITAL INKJET PRINT / UV PRINT / SUBSTRATE
Digital Prints
Digital Inkjet on Stainless Steel; UV on aluminium; silicon wafer engraving. Screen resolved into material substrate — the digital image rendered permanent by the most industrial means available.
